Hidden along the rugged Cornish coastline lie small, peaceful fishing villages, protected from stormy seas by their safe harbor walls. We'll visit these as we walk along coastal paths, passing golden sandy beaches, ancient smuggler's coves with turquoise waters and glorious panoramas from the tops of majestic cliffs.  Experience this treasured corner of England's countryside.

ITINERARY

After pick up at Bodmin Parkway Station.

We'll arrive and settle in to our comfortable accommodation that we'll call home for the next few days, That evening we'll get together for a friendly reception buffet set in relaxed surroundings.

On our first morning in Cornwall we head for Polperro, a classic example of a Cornish fishing village, where there will be time to wander around the narrow streets and alleys with their white-washed jumble of houses, cafes and shops before beginning our walk.

We'll follow along the South West Coast Path past old smuggler's coves with incredible views of the English Channel, its waves breaking at the base of the cliffs. Our final destination will be the delightful, ancient seaport of Fowey, where we will spend some time before heading back to our accommodation.

During our time in Cornwall we shall cover more of the picturesque South West Coast Path. Part of this will be through 'Daphne du Maurier country', the Gribben Headland, where she lived for many years at the Menabilly Estate.

Famous for writing books such as 'Jamaica Inn' and 'Frenchman's Creek', she drew inspiration from these beautiful surroundings for many of the settings in her novels such as 'Manderlay' in 'Rebecca'.

One morning we shall embark on a short ferry ride across the Fowey River to commence the 'Hall Walk'. This walk provides some of the prettiest river and estuary views you're ever likely to encounter.

We'll also walk another section of the coast path this time along the northern coast of Cornwall where we'll visit the legendary birthplace of King Arthur at Tintagel, perched right on the cliff edge above a myriad of caves that legend tells us were connected to the great wizard Merlin.

This dramatic headland, rich in history and legend is also stunning, with rugged cliffs and the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean beating against them.

On our departure day we will take the opportunity to visit an impressive 17th century manor house and its beautifully maintained gardens and ancient woodlands.

Tour starts and finishes at Bodmin Parkway Train Station, Cornwall.

Price includes: Hotel and Breakfast; guided walks; transportation between walks on tour days and to and from Bodmin Parkway train station at the start and end of the tour.

If you wish to extend your stay in Cornwall, please let us know and we will be happy to organise this for you at the time of booking.
