TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Payments

All monies paid to Great Walking Holidays Limited are to be held in a Trust Fund Account, protecting the interests of the client until the completion of the tour.
A deposit of £100 Sterling per person, per tour, is required at the time of booking your holiday. The final payment is due 60 days before the start of your trip. Deposit/final payment is also acceptable in US $ or Euros. Please contact us for the appropriate conversion rate.

Confirmation of Booking

We will issue you a confirmation of your booking once we have received your booking form and deposit payment. The date that the confirmation is issued will be the date that the contract between us comes into effect. Your confirmation will include details of the tour you have booked.

If You Cancel

If you are in the position that you have to cancel your holiday at any time, we will require written notice within the times specified below and you will be charged the following cancellation fee:

More than 60 days before departure: £100.00 per person.
Between 30 & 60 days before departure: 65% of land cost.
Between 0 &29 days before departure: 100% of land cost.

The fee charged will be based on the date that we receive your written notice of cancellation.

If We Cancel

Great Walking Holidays Limited, reserves the right to cancel trips up to the due date of final payment, if enrollment is too low or for any other reason. We require a minimum of 10 participants per trip to ensure departure. If a trip is cancelled then you will be offered alternative dates or trips, or, if these are not acceptable, a full refund will be made.

It is highly recommended that you enquire with us before making any flight reservations, as in the unlikely event of trip cancellation, we cannot be held responsible for additional expenses incurred by the traveler such as, airline cancellation fees, travel insurance and passport fees.

Insurance

We strongly recommend, that you purchase accident, baggage and trip cancellation insurance to cover yourself in the event of loss or damage to personal property, accident or illness, or cancellation of your trip. These policies are available from most travel agencies and insurance agents.

Physical Disability

Any physical disability requiring special attention or treatment must be reported to Great Walking Holidays Limited when a reservation is made.

The right is reserved to refuse acceptance of anyone in such physical condition as unfit for travel because of disease or any other reason, or to anyone whose condition may constitute a danger to him/herself or to other tour participants.

Responsibility

Great Walking Holidays Limited and/or its agents gives notice that all tickets, vouchers and coupons issued by them and all arrangements for transportation or conveyance or for hotel accommodation made by them, are made by them as agents for the passenger upon the express condition that they shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of defect in any vehicle or through the acts or default of the company or person engaged in conveying, otherwise in connection therewith, or of any hotel proprietor, or employee. The aforesaid Great Walking Holidays Limited and/or its agents can accept no responsibility for losses or accidental expenses due to delay or changes in schedules, hotel overbooking or defaults, sickness, weather, strikes, war, quarantine, or other causes. All such losses or accidental expenses will be borne by the passengers. Furthermore, the right is reserved to refuse to accept or retain as a member any individual whose acts or conduct are judged detrimental to, or incompatible with the interest, comfort, harmony, or well being of the group as a whole.

Baggage is at "owners risk" throughout the tour.
Small articles (coats, umbrellas, cameras, etc.) are entirely under the care of the passengers.

The right is reserved to cancel or alter any part of the tours. The right is reserved to change any portion of the tours and make refunds accordingly.

The payment of the required deposit or any partial or full payment for a reservation on these tours shall constitute consent to all provisions contained herein.

Release and Assumption of Risk

I understand that during the tour I am participating in under the arrangements of Great Walking Holidays Limited and its agents or associates that certain dangers and risks may arise, including but not limited to the forces of nature, travel by air, motor coach, van, boat, chairlift, or other conveyance, and the hazards of travelling on foot in rural and remote areas without access to medical facilities, transportation, or means of rapid evacuation and assistance, and where paths, trails, stiles, and bridges may be slippery or rough and not well maintained.

In consideration of, and as part payment for, the right to participate in such tour or other activities and the services and food arranged for me by Great Walking Holidays Limited and its agents or associates, I have and do hereby assume all of the above risks.

Tour Packages and Costs

All Great Walking Holidays tours include accommodation in quality hotels/inns with en-suite bathrooms.

The Coasts of Cornwall Tour: 5 Days / 4 Nights
The Cotswolds Tour: 4 Days / 3 Nights
The Charm of the Cotswolds: 5 Days / 4 Nights

The tour package costs described in the itineraries in the brochure are per person, in £ Sterling and are based upon two people sharing either a twin or double-bedded room. There are a limited number of single rooms available for which a single supplement rate is to be paid.

Also included are all breakfasts, and those lunches and evening meals as indicated in each tour itinerary. All land transportation for the duration of each itinerary is provided, as well as the expertise of a tour leader and experienced local guides. Entrance fees to scheduled visits or events are included in the price.

The price of the tour does not include all transportation costs to and from your tour itinerary's pick up point, lunches and evening meals or afternoon teas that are not stated on each tour itinerary; trip insurance; any extra expenses incurred on days off that are not stated in each itinerary; and personal items such as phone calls, valet or room service or beverages, etc. Airfare is not included in the price of the tours.

Passport and Visa Requirements

All visitors to the U.K. require a full and valid passport.

Once you have booked your tour with Great Walking Holidays, in your confirmation of booking we will advise you of any visa requirements necessary for your trip to the United Kingdom.
